I’ve been thinking about opening a book blog for a long time, and I finally decided to take the first step.
“You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.”
C. S. Lewis
Why a book blog?
As obvious as it might sounds, let me tell you: I love books and I believe that time spent doing what you love is never wasted. I always carry a book in my bag (and I have to say that things have gotten pretty easier for me since the invention of e-readers!) and I try to read as much I can even when I just have 5 spare minutes. Even if it’s 10 words, or a few lines, it always makes me happy.
I also want to share my opinions about the books I read because, in my personal experience, finding good books can be difficult. I’m here to help and I can’t wait to share my reviews with you!
What types of books will you find here?
I mostly read classics, contemporary novels, historical novels, fantasy books and non-fiction books about music. Occasionally, I also like to read science fiction, biographies and a few crime novels.
At the cost of sounding snobbish, I try to avoid reading “trends” because I live by Haruki Murakami’s words from “Norwegian Wood”:
“If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking.”
What does your blog name mean?
My blog name is a silly combination of two things I absolutely love: plants and books. And I usually read books so quickly –at least when I’m smitten with them– that you could say I actually devour them, which is why I called myself a book-eating plant.
Seriously, just take me to any library or floristry shop and there is a good chance that I might empty my purse to the last cent. Ok, maybe not that seriously, I might be exaggerating, but you get the picture.
I guess that’s it. Stay tuned!
